High BG after exerise

We did a 81/2 miles walk today I tested my blood when we got home 13.6!! I feel like giving up a few months ago I was in control but not any longer. Any advice please.

This probably doesn't help but maybe you went low whilst walking and your body tried bringing you back up and then went too high or your body just doesn't agree with exercise aha! My DSN told me that exercise can either bring your blood up or down everyone is different! Good luck finding the answer though xx

As Nicola said its not unusual to go high after exercise. I usually go up and then come crashing down couple hours later :) its your body trying to "prepare" for the exercise, making sure it has enough energy.

hi there was another thread that talked about this, and it was some thing about doing to much causes the liver to dump sugar, in the book escape the diet trap Dr John Briffa he talks about 12mins of exercise, i've also read it else where, all the best
