Hi All , I’m 5 weeks on from being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes :(. What a shock ! my BG are remaining high despite been on Glikazide and Metformin .
I wake up at around 18 ... by lunchtime 25/26. Then evening 30 plus .
is this usual for a while ? I’m so nervous of my BG been so high for this long - should I be stamping my feet for more attention or trusting the process with my doctor ?
Thank you for listening to a nervous Nelly xxx

What are you eating?
Those are very high numbers and you must be feeling awful.
I would test before and two hours after eating to see how the food you eat rises your blood glucose.
Many on the site have brought their BG down with low carb way of eating.

Hi @LadyMB, welcome to the forum!
should I be stamping my feet for more attention or trusting the process with my doctor ?
If you've been on both medications for a few weeks, yes, I'd stamp my feet to get some more attention!

Those levels are pretty high, you can always phone 111 for advice.
How often do you speak to your doctor/nurse to share your progress? When was the last time you spoke with them?

Have you changed your diet in any way too after your diagnosis?
Do you know what your hba1c level was when you were diagnosed?

Apologies for all the questions! They might help us in giving useful replies to your questions.
