High BG's and periodontal desease.

Hi, My bg's have gone crazy and my face is starting to swell up. botten left gums, teeth and jaw hurt like hell. Think I've got some sort of periodontal desease. In fact I'm sure as we have a few denist in the family and I've learnt a few things over the years. Feel very unwell and won't beable to get to the dental hospital til next week. And not sure if I'm gonna beable to work as speaking is really painful.
Feels like an abscess is delevoping very quickly.
Had to come home from work early last night and woke up this morning with a bg of 25 :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :evil:

Sounds awful.

In Scotland load of folk have no dentist.

GPs often end up dealing with dental problems. Lets face it, you will be a medical emergency if this is not fixed soon.

Certain antibiotics eg Co-amoxiclav and metronidazole can be very helpful with serious gum infections. You would be best to to to A and E direct as they may be able to get a dentist or oro facial surgeon (who are all qualified dentists and sometimes joint medically qualified too) to give advice to you.
