I am insulin dependent diabetic for 35 years. I take actrapid and levimir. For the last 10 days my sugar levels have raised through the night to highs of 24 by morning. I inject a correction dose and usual amount for breakfast and it rises slightly then stays the same for hours unless I go for a walk when it will drop down to 5 or 4. I have questioned the nurses if this the dawn phononemon but they think not. I can not always go out to walkl but am active within the house and it still will not drop. It is like I haven't injected at all.HELP??!!

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

What are your BG reading at bed time?
What time do you normally inject the Levimir?

It seems to me that you do not know whether your blood sugar rose slowly during the night or whether it started rising in the morning - only the latter would be associated with Dawn Phenomenon.
Are you able to set an alarm in the night to test your blood sugars or use a Libre to see what is happening? This will give you a better insight into the cause.
I believe Levemir is a twice daily basal. If so, it gives you the flexibility to tweak your basal to only affect your night time levels if you find they are rising slowly.
