My first enquiry. I have been very thirsty lately, tired. So I use my husbands blood test kit and found my blood sugar to be 12. I did it again in the evening and it was 11.2. I am a little concerned as I dont know much about this.

Normal: 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/l (70 to 107 mg/dl)
Prediabetes or Impaired Glucose Glycemia: 6.0 to 6.9 mmol/l (108 to 126 mg/dl)
Diagnosis of diabetes: more than 6.9 mmol/l (126 mg/dl)

Just to make things absolutely clear, Pat is talking about fasting levels. For random blood tests, which OP did, the diagnostic criteria is more than 11.1mmol/l (two tests in the absence of classical symptoms). Either way you should go see your doctor however
