Many happy returns on becoming pregnant! I think the main thing is if you are controlling things now, then be positive that all will be well. You are obviously healthy enough to have conceived in the first place, which is a positive - it's not that easy to get pregnant! To help with your control, they should let you have a pump, which I have heard is very helpful for diabetics in both conceiving and whilst being pregnant (might be worth considering - unless you are already on a pump?).
It's absurd that they are suggesting you should consider an abortion due to the circumstances - the main thing is it's your decision and if you are looking after yourself now, that's the best you can do. There are other women who do not take of themselves while pregnant, we just do the best we can.
