hi

I am feel like for the past few weeks my blood sugars have been increasingly high. I have had an infection but it is much better than it was so can’t see it still being down to this.

I was 25.5 before my bed and took extra insulin but just checked just now and was still 23 so have taken some
More humalog insulin.

My sugars are constantly around 15/18 first thing in the morning too.

I currently take 22 lantus in morning and 22 before going to bed.

I have out on lots of weight after having my little girl last year but I am trying to get back on track after being to diabetic clinic last week.

It’s reslly starting to get me
Down these Hugh blood sugars as don’t know why it’s been like this for so long .

Look forward to hearing some tips .

Thanks

Hi @Vicky-louise, Maybe your body's defence systems are still involved in 'mop-up' procedures and whilst this is happening your insulin resistance is still high = high blood sugars (and thus with advice from your doctor/dsn you may still need more insulin, both basal and bolus).
Trying to lose weight probably needs to wait until you are fully well and needs to be perhaps carried out with help from a dietitian (one who is au fait with all diets including low carb) and your dsn/doctor so that you can be helped to balance calories, carbs, exercise and insulin to achieve your goal.
Best Wishes !!
