Hello,

For the last couple months my sugars have been almost perfect during the night. I have a freestyle libre and the graph is almost straight the entire night. Over the last week my sugar have without a fail gone high every night. Sometimes i won’t eat hours before bed to avoid it, i make sure my sugars are within a good range before bed but they always now seem to go to about 15-16 mmol every night!! Why is this? I feel like it’s so random!

Hello, I recently replied to a thread similar to this, offering a few suggestions, but my suggestions didn't work, because the OP realised that her pen was broken, and not delivering the insulin. It might be a problem like that. Have a look at that first, is the pen broken? is the insulin no longer working? or something like that.

who knows why some times our BG level rise mine does the same then it is fine again for a while , some times goes high if i not feeling well or the body is out of sorts

Have had exactly the opposite. In fact over the course of a couple of weeks I’ve dropped 4 units of basal. The only thing I can think of is the weather. It is colder and darker. For me less needed (I don’t cope well with cold dark weather) for you it could be the reverse. I had upped it in the summer, though not by that amount.

i have listed below what i would do if this were happening to me .

these include changing insulin pen cartridge , taking my temperature ( in case infection is having an effect on BG's ) , getting up during the night to do an actual BG test rather than relying on Libre, and finally increasing basal dose
