High bloods during illness

Hi all, I had a bad cold and a chest infection a couple of weekend's ago, then the following weekend I was really poorly again (doc gave me different antibiotics but my gut feeling was that I had caught something viral on top of the cold). My bloods have been high all through this period (18 at worst but not really dropping below 10) and I am having trouble getting them back down, despite being extra good food wise.

Does anyone else experience long periods of high bloods after they have been poorly?

I am T2 since last September and am on 3 x 500mg Metformin.

I'm pleased to say I have been very well since I was diagnosed, so can't comment on that aspect, however it could be that even though you are feeling better your body is till fighting off whatever ailed you.

Obviously, if it continues, then it makes sense to mention this to your Doc.

I'm assuming your diet didn't change at all to accommodate any carby comfort foods whilst you've been under the weather?

Yes, I do. Can take 6 weeks to get back to normal.
Groan! Six weeks! I was ridiculously happy earlier as I got down to 7 for the first time in the last 3 weeks!
At least I know I am not alone - thank you!
