Had a slight cold for a couple of weeks, for at least the last week my bloods have not been below 10, been changing my infusion set every day but hasn't made a difference. Any help would be really appreciated.

I have posted about this below! Have you put a temp extra basal on? I started at + 150% basal plus correction boluses and now have gone to +130% and getting more stable BG under 7.

I changed my set and insulin/tubing etc at first because I don't feel that ill but do have a cold. I am also low carbing to help

I've put a temp basal of 50% on just recently so waiting to see. I don't usually have to use temp basal as bloods are usually spot on, so starting off on a small temp.

Normal port of call for high blood sugars is more insulin, so changing your set wouldn't help one bit. Temp basals plus a correction is the normal route to take

Forgot to say I have also been doing corrections, but doesn't seem to be helping.

My corrections alone weren't helping much either - that's why initially I changed set and also why I posted on here. I get anxious about high BG and I don't normally need such high insulin levels for a mild cold. If you are still staying around 10 I'd increase your temp basal and that should help. If the temp basal isn't high enough then the corrections will just be covering the basal rather than correcting the BG.

If I have a cold, infection or something wrong that I'm not even aware of , my sugars shoot up and very often only a TBR of 180% and higher brings my sugars down. Obviously a pain as you have to test regularly to make sure it's not settling down and that hypos don't happen. Amazing how much additional insulin, including extra bolus, is needed when body is not 100%

Thank's everyone. Bloods aren't any better, so temp basal is getting increased.

@Libby S are you using insets by any chance? There are some bad batches that don't pull back correctly. My BG has been high since starting a batch of these so going to call animas and swop them to be safe.

I get a cold (like now) and I have to run my pump at a tbr of 250% and it will still take corrections to get my levels lower and only eating minimal.. Literally very, very little....

When I see my levels gradually returning I'll lower the tbr down. Until then my pump remains on a tbr for 24/7.

Its a case of finding out what tbr works for you though.. And what infection you have or illness.
