Sorry to read you are not feeling well.
Unfortunately, along with stress, drugs and less exercise than usual, illness increases BG/BM and increased BG/BM makes me feel worse.
As a result, I always need to increase my basal dose whilst I am ill.
To avoid hypos, I increase it by an additional 10% each day until I find it is holding my BG steady or until I am feeling better.
I test and correct a lot through the day taking into consideration that I become insulin resistant when my BG is high so need a higher correction dose. For me (and we are all different), this means I double my correction when my BG is over 15.
If it seems as if my insulin just isn't working, I change the insulin batch and pens to check there is not a problem with them.
