I was diagnosed T2 in March 2016. On the LCHF diet I lost 2and a half stone and my BS went from 7.6 to 5.4. My DN said I was no longer considered diabetic. So far so good. BP and cholesterol fine.
I have just been called in to see DN as my BP has risen to 153/ 74 and my total cholesterol is also up. No idea as to the cause as no change in diet and very much more active. I have not put on any weight either.
Any ideas as to the cause.

There is no need to panic about your cholesterol being up - you don't know yet which bits of it are up and whether they are the good bits or the not as good bits. All the nurse will have looked at is the total, which is meaningless without the breakdown. Make sure you get a print out of the test results so you can see for yourself and analyse them at leisure. Also, was it a fasting test? If not, your triglycerides will have been raised especially if you had recently eaten something fatty.

As for blood pressure, this changes every minute or two depending on circumstances, and "white coat syndrome" plays a big part, as does stress. We are all stressed when having health checks, so this never helps. Even something silly like rushing to get to the surgery or waiting ages in the waiting room will have an effect. If this worries you, you could consider buying your own BP monitor so you can keep an eye on it at home. They are excellent tools, and not hugely expensive.

If you do buy a BP monitor for home use make sure you take it with you to the doctors and get a comparison with the doctors or nurses meter when I did this I found mine was reading rather high.

its only a little up. your Diastolic is normal your Systolic is into the hypertension range and it does need watching.try not to worry too much it normally requires 3 tests to confirm it. it may just be an odd high. ive had them.
