hi all, i postd this topic earlier on today but now i cant find it so im doing it again. I am type two and i take 3x5oomg of metformin a day and 40 mg of gliclizide a day my problem is that my bs readings are still fairly high. today i have had a fasting reading of 10.7 this morning and a reading of 11.2 this afternoon 2 hrs after lunch. i am on a l.ow carb diet . I have been takeing metformin and gliclizide for six months now and my readings are always high. Should i make an appointment to see dn to discuss this matter as it is bothering me a lot. Dont know what else i can do about this any advice will be greatly accepted. thanks x :P

Hi, can't give you advice as such, but if you're on a low carb diet and still getting those BGs, then you need to talk to your DSN, doctor whatever to have your meds looked at I would think. Are you sure there aren't things you're eating that have lots of carbs you don't know about? I had a friend who avoided carbs by stuffing loads of bananas! (About the worst fruit of all for lots of us)
Other than that, talk med adjustments with your dsn.

Your earlier post can be found here, which hasn't been answered yet.

If you are worried then I'd say that yes, you should see your DSN/GP. I will not comment on T2 medication.
