High levels and sore muscles?

Hi guys

Tying in with the post I made a few days ago about rising levels after exercise, I am now noticing that my levels have been running higher than usual for the past day or two.

Nothing has changed, I don't have a cold or feel ill otherwise, the only thing that I have at the moment is a full body of VERY sore muscles after my body pump workout last Saturday. This made me wonder, could sore muscles influence BG levels? Like, perhaps the liver is releasing more glucose to help repair the damage that was done to the muscles?

Any thoughts / experiences?

Hi Unicornz

I am no expert but came across this: http://www.getbig.com/articles/lowery01.htm

It seems to be saying that stressed muscles do not take up blood glucose easily. I don't know whether other type 1 exercisers have a take on this.

Regards

Doug

Hi Doug, thanks for the info that does look interesting!

I found out yesterday that during the exercise I actually strained one of the muscles in my abdomen and I am now stuck with a big swelling of fluid on my lower abdomen :( I think this might be causing my higher levels...
