Hi folks, for about the past 4 weeks i've been really struggling to get my morning levels below 10. I haven't changed anything, routine the same as ever, even tried to have a slice of cheese before going to bed but nothing works. After the morning reading everything is fine, levels are reasonably good. It really is doing my head in now so any advice would be appreciated.
You say you haven't changed anything ? Can you clarify that you are talking about your fasting(waking) Bg levels ? Is it taken early morning or much later ?
They don't sound too bad, maybe you are getting the infamous DP, Dawn Phenomenon and this is elevating your Bg levels.
Try aiming to be at the lower end of the 5 - 8 for a few nights. It could also be that if say you were at 8 then that is too high. This could be going up because of what you ate for your evening meal and the timing of it ? Do you eat late ?
yeh, eating before you go to bed is sure to give you a high morning BG level. Just make sure you don't eat anything for at least 2 hours before you go to bed, and make sure your dinner is composed of complex carbs and protein
