I'm really hoping someone can help.
Im T2 for 13 years. On metformin and have recently started alogliptin. I eat a keto diet.
(t1 antibodies are negative).
My fasting is anywhere between 9-11. And takes about 6 hrs to come down.
Occasionally down to 6, but still usually above 7 most of the time .
I aim for normal numbers.
Because of how long any spikes take to come down, and because the alogliptin hasn't done very much, I don't think I'm producing much insulin, but DN tells me a c peptide is pointless. (I'm also seen as a problem patient because I want better numbers). The NHS now seems to consider anything under 10 is fine.
I just don't know where to go from here. I'm instinctively cutting carbs even more, but even a steak seems to spike me the next day.
Any help or suggestions really appreciated.
Thanks
