High numbers

so been without my sensor for 2 days - Medtronic 780 with guardian 4
Yesterday was horrendous
Got a cold & I’ll be honest only now done a bm-29.7
I’ve just put in a load of insulin - this isn’t good
I’m drinking water a lot
Any advice please
 
in the circumstances in your shoes I’d be contacting 111 for advice, they’ll triage you and tell you what to do next. Or if you are really worried then maybe a trip to A&E, I’m at the risk of cross posting here as a T2 diet only, but things can change quickly & if your ketones are high as well as your BG you do risk the possibility of DKA

Better safe than sorry & maybe waiting for replies on here isn’t the best thing to do as we can’t give medical advice etc. really hope you’re better soon

I’d be inclined to go the 111 route.

I don’t pump (use MDI.)
What insulin do you use?

In my experience.
I normally find a correction dose (even catering for some pretty high numbers.) with Novorapid can stop escalating numbers in an hour & starting to turn things around in 90 minutes?
 
Its good bg down a couple of units. Due to other thread reply earlier, saying don't have ability to check ketones, would ensure to let the team calling you back know that. You should have ability to check them when unwell.

I’m still waiting on a call - I did a bm on contour next link machine & that said over 33
 
If you haven't done so already, it's always worth changing your cannula, with insulin out of a new vial. I use a tslim pump, but if it was me I'd give correction doses for numbers this high by injection as that works quicker (advised to do this by hospital team). Hope you feel better soon, and definitely ring 111 again.

I told the lady that & she thought I was talking about ketones - I told her that was my latest blood reading in a separate meter
Still waiting on a call

That’s very high BG. Have you checked ketones and are you not able to obtain the Guardian 4 as I thought they were available.
