Hi guys, iv noticed the last few days when iv been busy at work, iv had my lunch (tried & tested meal) about 11.30am, then not eaten till about 6.30pm my pre tea reading has been around 9.6 then 2 hrs after tea goes down to 6.4 why is that?
 
Hard to say not knowing type and time of your medication.
Have had brill numbers for weeks, just re done post 2hrs was 8.9 still 2 high used to it being in the 6s. Been diagnosed 6wks and diet bloods been really good. I. On metformin twice a day.

I don't know what flexibility you have at work, but it could be useful to do some additional tests between those times. It could be so many different things, from a delayed spike, to a rebound liver dump if the energy from your lunch has effectively "run out" and your liver steps in somewhat enthusiastically.

What did you have for lunch, and had you had that food, and portion size before?

Ye my usual egg, bacon & mushrooms. But have been sucking the odd sugar free mint could it be that? Will not eat again now and will do fasting b in morning.

More testing is the way forward for sure.

Although some foods are sugar-free, not all sweeteners have little or no impact on blood sugars, which is unfortunate, and like other things, some of us can be just plain old more sensitive than others.
