I live in Turkey so the readings are different, I have to keep my sugars between 75-106, I can't
What am I doing wrong, yesterday I at all protein and a tiny bit of bread, last night before bed I was 120, this morning 126!!
I've read about sweetners not being as good as I though and I like my tea SWEET so could it be that?? I'm at a loss
Wow uart, I didn't realise, that makes me feel a bit better, in the UK they were happy when my reading was 7.0, I'd still like to bring it down a bit but thanks for that

No 7.0 is still a bit high, you want to try to get it down a bit. I just meant that it isn't all that terrible.
I don't use many sweeteners, so hopefully someone else can recommend the best alternative to use there.
One thing you might find useful is to ease back on the protein and include a little bit more fat. In other words, don't just try replacing carbs with protein, try replacing carbs with some fat as well. If you include more fat in your diet try to compensate (for the increased energy density) by also upping your consumption of low carb vegetables. (Things like eggplant and cauliflower, as well as salad vegetables like lettuce cucumber and tomatoes are ideal.)
Don't forget about exercise either. Exercise using the large muscle groups can really help mop up the blood sugars.
Hi. Sweeteners have litle effect on blood sugar but some say they encourage the brain to seek sweet foods. I have sweeteners. Yes, keep the carbs down and have balanced amounts of protein and fat.
I now it sounds crazy right. But honestly, many diabetics here have had health improvements by swapping carbs for fats.
Fats from any healthy natural sources are good. Meat, dairy, olive oil. Just try to avoid fats from highly processed foods as they'll probably also contain transfats and/or sugars/carbs.
