Initially started on metfomin but now have insulin twice daily also.
Sugar levels are always ridiculously high. Even 1st thing in the morning around 23 ish. Why ??

Hello and welcome @mared72

I am a type 2 though not on any medication.

What type of food are you eating. Are you making sure that you have the correct insulin dosage for the meal that you are eating?

Are your levels consistent during the day?

Sounds like insulin dose may need adjustment ... you should discuss this with your medical support team. We can't advise you on adjusting medication doses ;)

Thanks all for responding. My levels are high regardless of times. I use a pen and take 16 my twice daily.

If you’re on fixed insulin then it sounds like either it or your carb intake or both need adjusting as the insulin isn’t covering what you eat. I’d suggest a chat with your doctor.
