Hi everyone,
Having a strange day, had a very busy week and not tested all week. When arrived home at 6.30 thought i would test before tea, was 9.1 felt fine and had my tea. 2 hrs later 9.4 to include 2 glasses of wine which normaly lowers my bg. My vision a bit fuzzy and quite concerned

Our vision may sometimes be blurry/fuzzy/distorted with changes in glucoses levels, due to fluid in the eye causing your lens to change shape, making it more difficult to focus properly. This should generally return to normal when our glucose levels settle down. I find that fluctuating levels will sometimes cause fluctuating blurriness, so my vision may be better some days than others, although my glucose levels are not generally high, nor do my annual retinopathy screenings show any problems. So don't worry too much unless you've also got any eye pains, in which case a visit to your surgery is definitely in order, as there may then be other causes. Have a look here for more information.

Yeh high sugar levels aren't fun. :( Yes, I don't feel the best with high sugar either and can get blurry vision.

Did you do anything differently Amanda? Eg. didn't have enough water to drink throughout the day, ate something different to your usual diet, had more activity than usual.

Also to add for me high sugar levels is my first indication I may be sick with something too. I've been dealing with a uti for over a month now and my sugar levels have been going crazy. Do you feel well?

Just some things to think about. It really could be anything causing the high sugar though... even stress and being highly emotional raises my sugar levels.

Thanks for reply, probably didnt drink water only coffee? Was a busy day so was feeling stressed. Tested this am was 7.1 so better & off today.

Yeh it could be that you were dehydrated then as coffee is a diuretic and you mention you didn't drink water. The stress of your busy day wouldn't have helped either I know when I'm dehydrated or stressed my sugar levels are high.

Oh good to hear :) you're welcome. Yeh dehydration is one thing you tend to not think about as affecting sugar levels... but it sure does.
