Hi! me again, I have noticed that even though my fasting and after breakfast BGs are still too high they seem to be dropping later in the day..is this a common thing that can happen??

Hi Sandra

Firstly the fasting BG test is known to be unreliable, most reliable would be to take the reading as soon as you wake up and still in bed. Otherwise the dawn phenonenom can kick in (body giving itself glucose to get on with the day).

I could never get mine below 7 and it was doing my nut in, as there was nothing I could change to improve this. Once I did a couple of reads in be they were well below 7 I no longer ever take this reading. Don't see the point.

Breakfast - still up - comes back again to what are you having for breakie. I remember on another post you mentioned blueberries. have you tried a no carb at all breakfast?

Thanks Mary, Could you give me some ideas for no carb breakfasts? I work in a laundry during the day and by lunchtime I find I am so hungry. Same thing happens in the afternoon when the kids come home from school...it is such a struggle to get through to tea time..

Thanks

Sandra
