Hi Ally1, feel for you. I have gone to pot as well! HBA1c gone through roof cholesterol up and chemist has not got usual tablet and with replacement at moment do seem to be able to lower my number if does not improve over next few days will have to contact the doctors. So wish you well.Yesterday I had a day of higher readings. Lowest reading was 9.7, highest 18.7.
Went to bed at 17.5.
I did think I had a rogue few strips but I then went onto a new pot and was the same. Readings have"t been high like yesterday for a long time. Am worried but I will be checking to see how they are over the next few days. Even thus mornings reading was in the 13"s
I share your frustration @ally1 - doesn't take much to get my BG soaring like this. I see from another post of yours that you have been having a bit of a hard time of it health-wise. Stress can send my sugar crazy, maybe it is having an effect on yours too? If I get a high reading like yours was this morning, I tend to fast until the numbers are back down a bit - i.e. I don't have breakfast and if my sugar still isn't down, lunch. Then I eat something around teatime.Yesterday I had a day of higher readings. Lowest reading was 9.7, highest 18.7.

They have been slightly higher then they used to be, but yesterday and today have way too high.Ally, you could be coming down with a virus or a bug of some sort, even one that hasn't shown itself yet. Your body could be fighting it off, and this would cause raised levels. Is this a sudden notch upwards, or have you been trending upwards for a while?
I did have my hca1 blood test on Tuesday and if that shows a marked rise since my last one, then my gp will call me in. I will call Monday or Tuesday anyway because I would like to know the resultAlly, you could be coming down with a virus or a bug of some sort, even one that hasn't shown itself yet. I had my flu jab 15 days ago. My levels has been highish before then. Only Friday and yesterday that my levels were lot higher.Good luck with the result Ally.
You haven't had a flu vaccination in the last few days by any chance have you? Some people have reported higher BG readings after having one.
Good luck with your results. I'm glad I am having my next HbA1c in February ish so I can be good after the Christmas splurge.
Mine will be just before Christmas too! My GP actually said to do it before Christmas, so I can ‘treat myself’ over the festive period! It’ll be my first Xmas with Diabetes so not sure how much I’ll let my hair down yetMine is always just before Christmas, which is excellent!
