Hello there,

The text book way to treat a Hypo is to have something that will raise blood glucose levels quickly such as what you said jelly babies (very good for low sugars) My favourite is Lucozade (normally quarter of a small bottle) and within 10 minutes I am beginning to feel almost normal again.

As said this will raise glucose levels quickly to within decent range. It would then be advisable to actually eat something that will release glucose into the body slowly such as a wholemeal sandwich as this will stop you dropping below range again and back into Hypo.

It appears you may well have as you stated "stuffed your face " real good!!!

A few jelly babies or wine gums or glucose tablets but then eat something that will release energy into the body slowly.

Try not to eat bags of sweets etc. Important thing is to get your sugar levels up as quick as possible but not so much you spend the rest of the day trying to get them back down..

Not sure how long you have been a T1 but if it is not for long these things are all part of it. You will learn through experience as I have.

Hoping you get things back within range soon :)
