I was a silly so and so over the weekend, I have had a tickly cough so without looking at the label I bought some medicine to help me. At 6.20 on Saturday evening after a tea of small jacket potato with low fat baked beans my bs was 6.9. During the evening I felt really odd, sick, hot and cold etc. so at about 8.40 I took another reading 19.0 - my husband checked the cough medicine and low and behold on the very bottom at the back in very small writing was Not Suitable for Diabetics.
Come Sunday morning it was down to 12.2 and again at 5.20 I was 6.4.
I take 2 Metformin am, 1 Gliclazide, inject Byetta twice a day and at evening meal take 2 more Metformin.
So watch out for the writing on cough medicine bottles.
