Hello,my daughter has had her pump now for about six weeks.Although I can see the benefits of it we have one particular problem that I am finding very frustrating. My daughter goes to bed at 7.30pm and we always check at 11pm.Some nights her levels are great when tested and remain so through out the night. The next night the level at 11pm will be slightly high and then we will be having to give her a correction in the middle of the night.I have noticed that if she is under ten when tested at 11pm then she stays at a good level all night. However on the nights where she is just over ten we are having to correct. This all seems to happen regardless of what she eats for supper and whether or not she has had a bolus.I have tested her nightime basal rates and they were fine.I just wondered if anyone had experienced this or might have some idea as to why it is happening.thanks.martina

If you've checked her night time basal rate (testing every hour) I would look at tea again, write down what she's having etc... But also along side this her activites for the previous 24 hours, as you might have a lag time hitting at it can be surprising sometimes which activity may impact on the blood glucose levels..

I would then compare foods eaten, activity to her night time readings to see if any pattern emerges..

A afterthought here

I know that you say that you've tested her basal rates overnight, they may still be out as she may have hit a growth spert or maybe had a reshuffle of the hormones as children do, they probably need more regualar checking of the basal correctness than an adult would
