soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
As I've often written, my T1 husband has all the complications a high carb diet can produce. I'm trying to get him to save his already damaged kidneys, by getting tighter control. ....not only am I coping with an idiot, but he has a high carb/high dose insulin consultant, so that's 2 of them to conflict with.
After our little trip to the doctor's at 8 last night, Some people :? would have checked BG, before bed.
Anyway, I was woken at 4 this morning by 17 stone of husband crashing to the floor. He was very hypo and trying to get to the loo, when he stepped on one of the cat's toys and fell. I still haven't got him to realise that lower carbs need lower insulin.( he says he's reduced his Glargine Lantus by 4 units! from 30 to 26) Anyway he got himself onto his feet with difficulty and tried to exit the bedroom without opening the door. I grabbed the Lucozade, which I now keep upstairs and gave him some and made him sit on the bed. our bathroom is right by the top of the stairs :!:
I asked him where his BG machine was and he said downstairs in his coat pocket, so down I went to look for it, without success. I got back upstairs and used my own ( having put in a new lancet ) It was 2.9. He kept telling me to go downstairs and put the fire on in the kitchen. We don't have a fire in the kitchen. So I gave him another 20ml or so of lucozade and when he could sand up, let him go to the loo. Istood at the top o the stairs to prevent him falling down them, then when he came out of the loo, I escorted him back to bed and gave him the remains of the lucozade. Found his machine on the window sill and checked again, up to near 4, so when he insisted he was going back to sleep, there wasn't much I could do about it. I did check to see that there was more lucozade, just in case. Anyway in minutes, he was snoring happily and loudly. It took me at least an hour to get back to sleep.Naturally enough I overslept this morrning and had to rush to get to the park to take my "crew " for a walk. I did that, walked the 2 miles back into town, did a few bits of shopping and caught the bus back. Let The poor doggies out and now I'm waiting for the kettle to boil so I can have my well-earned cuppa. Who's surprised that I'm shattered?

You sound like an absolute hero!

I wish my girlfriend was as compassionate when I kick her out of bed at 2am with hypos :p But seriously, I'm not a "low carber" but it sounds like your husband could really do with some diet advice. What kinds of stuff does he eat?
