Well the problem is I've been low carbing for 3 months now and initially lost 7 lbs, but I've been stuck at the same weight ( 11 and a half st) for 2 months, also my bs according to my meter which is brand new are up and down, they have never been lower than 7.8 and as high as 15 oh apart from when my kids took me out on mothers day and I had 2 glasses of wine (5.5) lol can't drink booze all day tho.
I'm vegetarian and on odd days think I should go back to eating meat however it was Atkins that made me veggie 5 yrs ago - got so sick of bacon and eggs, meat and fatty stuff. Oh the irony.
The thing is what the hell do I do now!!! I'm swinging a kettlebell and walking, Ive hit my bodies set point I think but its soooo frustrating.
Anyone been in a similar position and manged to kick start their weight loss again.
I'm not due for another check for a while either, but if my bs is that high its a bit worrying.

Hi Dawn! Must be annoying. You say you're low carbing, but what is your diet? I'm sure you know your carbs, but quite a few people seem to think they're low carbing but "forget" quite a lot of things that count. Perhaps you could share a typical days food with us. When I say share, I don't mean pass the plate round!

lol Grazer you wouldn't want it ok here goes
2 eggs boiled - I have always put them in a cup with butter and then smashed them.
Or an omlette with cheese
or a whey protein drink

Lunch is a salad with chunks of cheese maybe feta or some yorkshire blue and avocado, if I haven't had eggs for breakfast I'd stick one on too
Maybe a handful of nuts

Tea/dinner, I cook a mean curry with green beans and mushrooms, if I can be bothered I'll have cauli rice.
Or big field mushrooms with walnuts spring onions and blue cheese cooked til the cheese goes crispy yum
Total yogurt with seeds and blueberries,
Just an example. But I wondered if I was eating enough, cos I know that can stall weightloss, but I'm not hungry.
Grrrrrrrrr

Dawn,

I have been there so many times - start off brilliantly and then hit a wall and just can't get past it. Couple of things that have helped me in the past...

1) shaking things up - try doing something new. Whether it's changing something with your diet or starting a new exercise. Often kickstarts things again.

2) take a few days off. Sounds crazy but I sometimes find that having a weekend off and then restarting really helps. A lot easier to do if you're on insulin and can adjust your insulin to compensate for the extra carbs.

Stick it at and the weight will start to come off again :)

What about portion size and fats? if you hit a stall, those may need to change. I've been stalled for ages and know I need to make those changes, but it's not easy to fit into my lifestyle. I WILL o it starting this week!

PS I have lost 3 stones already.
