HI all
I was diagnosed roughly 1 year ago with LADA. Recently I have been having hypos with little to no warning at all. I used to be able to feel them coming on with shaking, agitation and sweating but recently I've not felt any symptoms until I'm sitting in the 2's mmol/l . Anyone else had this?? Is this common?? Any advice?? I am on DMI and waiting to chat with my endo about perhaps being on a pump where I can program an alarm when I go below 4mmol/l but until then any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Xx

Hi Karemi! Sorry to hear about yr sudden hypos. Do you normally run your BG low? Because if your body gets used the low bgs it can be harder to spot a hypo. I've had a load of lows recently and I think painkillers for a bad back are to blame. So I'm leaving more of a safety net and running my bg a few points higher than I normally would. I still get the shakes warning tho. Guess you will have to test more often till you find what's causing your lows. Maybe your background insulin is too high?

My BG has been a bit all over the place lately with a few days of swinging but I don't normally run low. I am running myself a bit higher so hopefully will counter this issue. I have been busy at work and perhaps just haven't picked up on the signals so I guess I will have to test a bit more frequently. I like the idea of lowering my background so will give this a go for the next couple of days to see if thing improve. Just thought this kind of thing only happened to long-time diabetics not newly diagnosed.. Thanks for your input and I hope your back gets better soon :)

I'm sure there'll be a reason, Karemi. It may be hormonal. I'm 57 and through with most of my hormone changes - hopefully! :)
