If you continue to eat carbs and increase you fats, you will put weight on because you will be increasing your overall calories. Butter and cream are very calorific. To lose weight on a LCHF diet you have to find the right balance between carbs, fats and protein or it won't work.
You seem to be a little bit wiser now. Hopefully you can keep them down and control your bloods. Thanks yeah, to be honest I'm only really interested in the BG numbers, have no need to lose weight really. I can see the balance would have to be right though yes.
I had some butter on cheese yesterday for breakfast. No weight gain measured this morning....as usual.
Yes you guessed right. That's the Bebington kop. Was it built then? Thanks. What I wanted to say in the post was that if people really miss their fav things, like bread, then going for a walk after eating it is fine, isn't it? Or not that simple.....?
Is that Prenton Park? Went there in the early 90's watching Blackburn, we drew 2-2

We have played each other a few times since the early nineties, I think I've been to Ewood Park about 4-5 times.
Do you still go to watch them at home?
We have a thread about footie called 'Football season 2014/15'
Join in the banter.

My only comment would be to be careful of carbs+fat as that's a potential recipe for disaster. Whilst you may not need to lose weight, it's unlikely many of us need to gain it either. Unfortunately, when we gain weight it initially accumulates around the girth, which is a bit of a danger area.
Your profile doesn't help me understand if you're T1 or T2.
Thanks I'll bear it in mind. I'm T2. To give you an idea I've got myfitnesspal set at "87g carb, 87g protein and 116g fat". Is this bad? If it is I'm prepared to do a bit of gym too
Welcome to the TRUTH!I've been eating and testing, eating and testing for a couple of weeks now. My BG is better than it's been for a long time. I will admit that eating fewer carbs has helped me reach these numbers, although I would say folks don't need to completely leave out the foods they love. Exercise has also played an important part.
I found that if I know I'm going to be at home sat on my ass all day, a low carb breakfast is in order, natural yogurt with nuts for example, to keep the numbers low.
I also found that if I know I have to go to the centre of the city, 1.5km walking, then I can have oats or wholemeal toast before I go and the numbers are still low, because of the walk.....
BUT, because I've been eating a lot more butter, cream etc than I normally would, I've put weight on.
In conclusion, I would say in my experience that low carbing is a good but not always necessary way of keeping blood sugars down. Not convinced that a lot of fat is healthy yet, I guess time will tell. I've only done the toast then walk thing a couple of times , this is by no means "research"
