My family and I are going on holiday in August to a caravan park in between Whitstable and Herne Bay in Kent. We like to go out and about exploring the area having days out etc and wondered if there's anyone in that area or has been there that can recommend somewhere. I've googled Canterbury and found a few places that we can visit there but if there's any where else someone can recommend, I'd be most grateful.

There's some nice walks along the north Kent coast (Saxon Way?) including Reculver Castle. Canterbury is good, you can also try Rye, Tenterden (including Bodiam Castle and the Kent & East Sussex Railway), Leeds Castle, Dover Castle (with a great underground wartime museum), Sissinghurst gardens near Cranbrook (bit further away, depends on age/interests of family). Whitstable has become a desirable town recently after years of decline - the famous oysters have been a catalyst I'm sure).

Have a great time anyway!

Many thanks for that, not sure about the oysters though!!My brother lives in Rye so we've been to all the places you mentioned that are down that way.
