If you are staying in a hotel they should have a bin for hazardous waste.
If not then I suggest you keep your used lancets and test strips in your own bin or use an empty drink can and tape them up and dispose of them when you get home.

You can buy sharp bins designed for travelling in a 0.20l size, you can pick them up on Amazon or ebay for around £3.

A medicine bottle, ideally with a child proof cap, or vitamin pot or film cannister [if you still have one] all work OK as holiday sharps bin.

Also, using lancets with caps that fit differently and show when they have been used mean thay you can keep a few lancets in the meter bag, which means no need for a bin - unless you change lancet every time, as recommended, of course.

I must admit I'd probably only use one or two lancets in 5 weeks, and only about 4 insulin needles.

I have one of these - they are great .
Less bulky and noisy with things in them too .

I bought mine with VAT relief too .
I asked about this - and got it .

A lancet lasts me about 2 weeks - just keep the used ones in the pocket in the case with your meter. When you have got through a tub of strips you can use that temporarily.

Sharps bin? What is this sharps bin of which you speak?

I have never owned a sharps bin in my life and I won't be taking anything of it's ilk for my trip lasting several months. Throwing away opened food cans is far more hazardous than a pricker lancet.
