I'm going to florida next year. Does anyone know if certain insulin injection medications arent allowedd in the states please. thanks

Check your specific medications with he US consulate. I think you can do it on-line, however, I don't think there are any problems. They have millions of diabetics in the USA, using all kinds of medication.

As Hana says contact the US embassy/consulate or go online for advice. They are very good at giving individual advice for travelling/visiting the various states and will supply you with all necessary information to ensure you have a safe/troublefree trip (through customs etc). Heed their advice about declaring stuff in airports etc. or you could be delayed for hours!

But Florida is a great place to visit, especially as a diabetic as the restaurants often have carbs/cals on their menus (just remember the difference between UK/US carbs) and thus making it easier to calculate insulin etc.

Have a FAB time!!

If it helps I travel to the US several times a year and I've never had any problems. Even ended up in hospital recently in the US (strange problem not related to diabetes, but not too bad) and other than the difference in US and UK units I had no problems with insulin, which they insisted on giving me even though I had my own.

As posted alreday though if you have concerns then check, but I can't think of any problems
