stick to eating out where possible and avoid the obvious carbs.
Hi @Beery ,
A good fast translation app. The sort that pictures the text & translation boxes interpret may help?
with regards to starting on a pump just before an adventure? I'd probably stick with what i know & get comfortable & fully acquainted with the new in familiar surroundings when i'm home.. What with the labeling & wot not..?
I'll tag in some pump users with their view.. @kitedoc @helensaramay @Juicyj @Mel dCP
Enjoy yer trip!
Would this help?
(Can't see anything on it about fibre, maybe some googling required)

I cannot help with the Japanese for carbs.
However, as a pump user, I am more comfortable pumping when travelling than I was when on MDI as changing time zones is much much easier.
That said, the first few weeks of pumping may be challenging whilst your basal profile is tweaked. Abnormal lifestyle during this time may extend the time it takes to get you basal profile optimised.
In other words, there are pros and cons of transitioning to the pump before your trip.
I will definitely try and find a translation app, I didn’t even think of this. Thanks.
From his mention of MDI and pump, I assume the op is T1, so there's no pressing need to avoid carbs - would be a bit of a downer going all the way to Japan and missing out on sushi!
@Beery, This one has a good rating, Googles own Translate, lots of options here.A good fast translation app. The sort that pictures the text & translation boxes interpret may help?

Edit: I just downloaded it and it translated from English to Japon off of a medication box.
It's free as well.
No, I did not think of it.Did you translate it back to English making sure it correlates with the box..
From what I have seen in Translate, Japanese has all the required bits, although will download the language file which comes in two sizes.I haven't looked in Google Translate for Japanese, but not all languages are available in all forms (audio, photo or text). It'd be worth doing the work before leaving.
