Just wanted to say that I have been in Madeira for a week. Made the most of the food that I could eat, especially their lovely sardines. Everything came with either potatoes or chips, even when I said no, didn't eat them. Ate the meats & fish and lots of lettuce and tomatoes, never any other vegetables offered. I now like black olives, hated them before. Had a a few mouthfuls of their lovely garlic bread and savoured it. Had a bite of OH's ice cream occasionally. Had a few slices of orange with yogurt and bacon & tomatoes for breakfast, don't like eggs. Took some Sainsbury Hi-Lo bread which lasted all week in the mini bar. Had cheese and a couple of Carr's Melts after dinner (the puddings in the hotel looked spectacular)
I didn't put on any weight and my BGs stayed at 5 all the time. I am really pleased with myself for being so resolute in the face of temptation.
