Quick question, I was told a a few months back that I would need some form of letter of my gp for when I go on holiday for my insulin and such. I phoned my gp up today and the receptionist had no clue, I was expecting a call back of a doctor which I didn’t receive. Anybody shed some light on this.

It's purely for the purposes of safety. Your own and the area of your destinantion. Should anything happen whilst your away this can save a lot of time in diagnosis and quicken the treatment for you. That's what I've been led to believe by my healthcare professionals

And allow you to travel with meds/needles/pens/testing kits.

Your Diabetic Specialist Nurse should be able to arrange this for you. I take mine but have not needed it. Security at airports generally won't question.
