Hi everyone, I am taking my newly diagnosed 13 year old on holiday to Spain to an 'all inclusive' hotel. I am a bit worried about the drink situation as he likes squash and fizzy drinks, obviously the zero sugar variety. Are these freely available or shall I take some with me. Be grateful for any tips on this and travelling in general

There are plenty of people with diabetes in Spain so can not see a problem myself.
If worried email the hotel and ask.
Most importantly enjoy your holiday :)

Thankyou for your response, it is the use of cheap sugary drinks in cheapish hotels that concerns me. We usually holiday in France and do have problems buying no sugar squash in the supermarkets there, just wondered if it was the same

I've holidayed in Spain going all-inclusive and not had a problem getting diet drinks at the bars & restaurants, all I would say is just be careful with drinks obtained from those pump dispensers as like here in the UK they often serve the wrong drink, if it's in a can, bottle or carton you can see if its sugar-free.

Enjoy the holiday and hope your boy has great time :)
