I thought I was in the lucky position of going to Turkey for 10 weeks in May, but now I'm trying to control my T2 with diet, I really wish I wasn't going. The ex pat lifestyle isn't geared up for low carb. Although being there for so long we won't eat out every night, I can hardly think of a restaurant where I can eat low carb, unless maybe I can just eat a salad. I'm almost vegetarian so almost every meal I've eaten out there in restaurants is pasta or pizza. I just don't know what I'm going to do.
It's going to get really hot and everyone around me is going to be tucking into lollies and ice cream and I'll have to be content with a bottle of water.
I'm worrying about it and it's really getting me down. I started the week really positively but now I've stopped testing and feel like I might as well give up.
How have others coped with being abroad and maintaining a LCHF diet?

I spend months in Greece every year. I went for six weeks two days after I was diagnosed. T2. I found some sliced whole meal bread ( tiny slices). Plenty of fish, yoghurt with things in, salad, aubergines, cheeses, okra, chicken breast, iced coffee and grilled meats. Lots of other things that I can't think of. I enjoyed the challenge of making suitable food. When we go out I will usually have grilled fish or chicken, salad, tsatziki and a very small portion of chips. I did take some scales with me and used the fat secret app to count my carbs. Hope this helps.
