home alone and

I hate it, bloods have been all over lately and I am now home all on my own and worried like never before. Don't know why but just feel like something bad is gonna happen (maybe from the you know when a big hypo is on its way) kinda thing and no-one is here to help argggghhhhh.

Tonight you will be mostly testing, by the sound of it. That ahold allow you some sleep.
 
alone for a full week so gonna be a long week
 
It won't be such a long time....
Just make sure you've got jelly babies for company. Post when you've got them there, lined up at the ready.
 
I think it's those two words: home alone, like the film we always watch at Christmas where there is a merry sense of impending doom... but the bad guys in that film seem easier to outwit than diabetes!
I hope you're feeling ok today.
 
Just test more than you usually would @Gaz-M, as an experienced type 1 I'm sure you'll be fine.
 
yeah its just the worry of the night time hypos really, I do not get alot of warning but more so when I,m asleep
 
I find it helps to set an alarm to get up and test in the night if I'm anxious. Mor than likely my blood sugar will be fine, but knowing I'll be awake to check in a few hours allows me to sleep more easily.

Another thing I do is go to bed higher than I would normally.

I understand the worry, but I'm sure you'll be ok Keep testing and keep a quick hypo treatment by your bed. Odds are you won't need it

I have been on my own for many years ( bringing up my now teen, who is sleeping over at her friends tonight) so I could be Home alone 2 The other thing you could do is to run your BS just a little higher before bed, so you sleep more soundly and hopefully you wont be too anxious or worried. It's not ideal. long term, but may ease your concerns.

@Robinredbreast the common symptoms of a hypo is cold sweat, palpitations and dizziness that are unrecognisable whilst asleep.

Hypoband alerts your loved ones when you are unable to treat yourself during a hypo. Hypoband monitors your skin temperature and humidity and when you experience cold sweat due to hypo, the App will trigger and alert your loved ones to come to your aid.

The Hypoband gives you a greater peace of mind, better night’s sleep with increased productivity during the daytime and reduced anxiety.
 

Thank you for your reply, not sure it would alert my teenager in the next room, but surely it would alert the user ?
 
@Robinredbreast The Alerts are phone calls to any ones smartphone / landline and one could be to your teenager in the next room. You can have up to 3 caregivers.

You can set the HypoBand to 'Local Alarm' and it will ring on your own smartphone to wake you up. In addition, there is a buzzer on the HypoBand itself, which will also assist in awaking you.

I can understand the anxiety caused by possibility of hypos, especially if you're used to having people around you. I live on my own and sometimes when I'm having a rough patch I just hope I am going to be ok and it won't be the case that someone finds me months later. I'm sure I'm not the only one like this. But I'm not used to having people around me so I guess I'm not as concerned. I now see a lot less people than I used to. In fact being honest, I can count on one hand how many visits to my house I've had this year by family/friends.. .it's about 2 visits. But my situation is different and I can't hold a conversation without pain. So I just deal with the being alone thing. Yeh I can get concerned at times for sure. I hope you can relax and maybe a good idea is see if someone can check on you or something. I haven't got that in place myself.... but it may work for you if you just need that reassurance. I also think there is some kind of service that can call you too.... well there is here in Australia.
