Hello everyone. Can anyone please help. I was diagnosed as T2 July 13 despite having Graves' disease and being told that my immune system had attacked the cells in my pancreas also causing damage to the pancreas itself causing it to shrink. Confirmed with scans. I have other immune conditions and have had radio and chemotherapy which seems to have helped bringing down my white blood count. I was immediately put on max dose of metformin which did not help. My BM readings were very rarely under 25, So within 3 weeks of diagnosis I was put on Lantus. My BM was being monitored at another hospital weekly but only due to thyroid eye disease which was being treated with localised injected steroids. My diabetes happened almost overnight. However in the last 3 weeks my sugar levels have been quite erratic. Never going over 12 but more often dropping and causing hypos. Mostly which I have been able to deal with alone. The last few days have been a nightmare. I've been becoming lower and lower. So much so that I have stopped taken metformin and my Lantus slow release. My readings today have seemed to stablelised ( touch wood) so I'm not having to compensate with carbs . I had a spell in intensive care before Christmas (not diabetes related ) and they have confirmed that I can only tolerate a BM of 5.4-5.8 before having serious effects of a hypo. Could this be a honeymoon period ? I know it doesn't apply to T2 but I was convinced they had misdiagnosed anyway. So confused and frustrated now.

I haven't got a clue Poggle.
I will bump your post up to see if anyone can help.
