Just wondering how long your kids honeymoon periods lasted for. My daughter has been type 1 for 15 months and still producing about a quarter of her own insulin

I think it's different for everyone, I'm still on my honeymoon period but I've only been diabetic for 5 months.
How do you find out how much of your own insulin you're producing?!

Her diabetes nurse explained that a person needs about 1 unit of insulin per kg in weight per day. so someone of 28kgs would be injecting about 28 units in total. My daughter weighs 26kg and only injects about 17 units a day in total therefore producing the rest herself

You can ask hospital for a C-Peptide test which gives a much more accurate reading of how much insulin you produce.
