Hospital appointment tomorrow

Hey all, I have a hospital appointment tomorrow. I got my heamoglobin A1c back last week and it was 75. This is really good for me considering back in 2014/15 us was up at over 100. It's slowly been coming down over time and I'm gonna keep at it, just worried the hospital will moan at me for it?
Also tomorrow I will be asking about the pump. I'm really hoping they'll let me have one!
Also one more thing: this is gross but ladies, when you're on your period, does it make your blood sugar high?

Periods are NOT gross. They are a fact of life. I have read many times that periods screw your BG levels up. I've been on the pill injection (depo) for almost 12 years and not had a period in all that time so I have no idea x

Haha I know they're not gross. But some men find them to be! I know it could be better, but the main thing is it's coming down a lot, slowly but surely. I just don't want them to moan at me haha

Yes hormones do affect your BG control, so your period is going to impact on your insulin sensitivity, my insulin requirements can increase considerably during the first 3-4 days by around 20%, I put a note in my diary each month so I am ready to adjust my levels as if it catches me unaware my BG levels hit the high teens, just another joy of being a woman and having type 1

Yeah mine was 19 when I woke up this morning! And I had an extra 4 units of insulin last night before bed (levemir) but it was still high. Doesn't help when all you want at this particular time is ****** fatty foods!
