Today I received a letter from my local hospital rescheduling my appointment to see my consultant, I am not a happy bunny as the new appointment is for September instead of April which will mean it will be almost 12 months since my last visit. I feel very cross about this but as I am a relatively new diabetic (secondary diabetic due to removal of pancreas) I am not sure what support I have a right to expect. Does anyone have an idea what the NHS guidlines are regarding frequency of visits to see a consultant?

I had the same kind of B**lsh*t from my hospital, kept reassigning nephorogist appts regularly :( . When I queried this with consultants's sec then it magically stopped unfortunately she has "moved on" and if it reoccurs I woldnt be rushing to see her replacement!! I'll be asking for a new hospital!!

i think being new to diabetes u should be seen regurlarly while u get used to the new way of life, not wait a year to see someone i would phone the hospital and ask for something sooner if it were me
