Hospital, who's in, about to go in, who just got out.

I thought I would start a new tread. I though it would be nice to wish each other well, have a place to talk so we don't feel alone. We can make it light hearted or serious it's up to the individual. I personally like to referred to hospital admission as being captured by the men in green suits.

I just got out recently. I had my tonsils out, but was then readmitted with a bleed!

The hot weather made it feel like they were slowly cooking me into my grave
 
Been in twice in July now have I to o again in August a it's a scary time....I am hospital phobic.....looking forward to September when I hope I can feel more like me again...good to look after ourselves though best wishes kx
 
5 weeks till I go in for the 19th time in 4 years for my 6th major operation
 
47 years old and never had a stay in hospital so far ! keep those men in green suits away from me !!!!!!!!
 
I was in last Monday for a cataract op. The most traumatic part was having to get up at 5am to be in for 7:30 :shock: At least I was out by midday :thumbup: The op went well and my vision is now awesome
 
I've learnt important 3 things about hospitals from the 3 stays I have had
1) the NHS has an almost infinite capacity to **** things up,then put them right and then expect you to be impressed at how clever they've been
2) if you're prescribed sleeping tablets but fall asleep before they're given to you one night, you will always be woken up again to take your sleeping tablets
3) if you want decent food go for the halal option
 
I've never had to have an operation ever!!! (*touches wood*) and hopefully I won't ever have to have any kind of operation or surgery ect... (touches wood again to be sure)

You're lucky! I only made it to 23

The thing that frustrated me most was when every single nurse of doctor asked me if I had a fear of needles before they did anything. This was particularly interesting as they were about to give me my anaesthetic since they were meant to know I am T1 and be controlling my BG for me!
 
I am going into hospital beginning of September to have a hip replacement, I have been diagnosed with avascular necrosis as a result of fracturing my pelvis last year. I will have to use a zimmerframe for a while after the op, whoop-eee-doo, I want a purple one.
 

Ouch! Poor soul. I hope the replacement 'takes' OK. I also hope you won't be in hospital for as long as last time, and that you can get your emergency diabetic food rations sorted out in advance. Take care.

Hope all goes well with your hip replacement. I am also on the waiting list for a hip replacement and as yet do not have a date. I live in Spain so the waiting time is about 9 months but first you have to go to the pain clinic to try and control the pain whilst waiting. I have been waiting for the pain clinic appointment since early July so hopefully should come soon. Look forward to hearing how you get on.

I go in on the 28 August for my eye op. Feeling ok at the moment just wish I didn't ave to travel to strange hospital in another town.I calnt wait till I can post I'm out of hospitl and safe and well at home x
Ihad my first ever op at nearly 43 it happened very quickly (emergency) so I didn't have time to dwell on things. Good uck to all who are in or recovering.

Going in soon for triple/quadruple heart bypass. Have been T1 for 47 years and always hate giving others control of my diabetes (even the professionals). Maybe I shouldn't take so much notice of the media but have had a couple of bad experiences over the years in the care of the medical profession.

I hope it goes well and your life is better afterwards,It's scary stuff and I've had 2 major surgeries in 2 years but the second one turned out to a very good decision and I'm glad I did it. :thumbup:

I'm waiting for a second opinion, but it looks likely that I'll be in soon to have my knee replacement revised as they think I have an infection in it. Not looking forward to it at all. I have had 9 ops in the last 9 years, 4 of them major surgeries.
 
I finally had my appointment with the pain clinic yesterday and after a thorough going over by 2 doctors it appears I have 2 types of pain , one coming from my hip and the other pain from nerve damage which I am going to have an MRI scan to confirm So diabetes has even hijacked my hip replacement !!! I thought I was winning the battle have had good BG results for a while now but no it comes back to remind you your diabetic. I have retina annual check next week let's hope this goes better
