I found the following worrying to read, apparently new proposals have been put forward to allow NHS hospitals to move into the private market, take a read:

My concern is that although this may generate more income for the trusts to spend on equipment and care of patients, are we now to see a two tier NHS where waiting times are based upon the ability to pay?
There are more than enough private clinics/hospitals in this country that provide excellent care to those who are fortunate to pay, and had I had the funds to hand would have used them myself in the past, but why place a burden on a already overstretched NHS which struggles to cope with the demands that is placed upon it already :? ................surely this isn't the way forward!
