I recently read that if you mix a good quality cocoa powder, with hot skimmed milk and a tspn of honey, this will help with lowering cholestral. As a person who has just been diagnoed with type 2 (diet only) diabeties, is this ok, without sending my sugar levels "sky high"?

Hi Wallabeefan,
That concoction won't send your blood sugars off the scale. In total it amounts to around 19g of carbohydrate, about half of it fast acting. The cocoa powder and honey are both supposed to be rich in flavonoids, which inhibit LDL (the "bad" cholesterol). Not sure what effect the skimmed milk has other than to dilute the cocoa and honey!
