Our next Meeting is on Tuesday September 27 . Members, of all Groups are welcome to attend, with their family, loved ones and carers. The speakers for this meeting are:
1. Darren Marsh (Diabetic Dietician, WMUH). His presentation will include new Diabetes UK guidelines with some practical advice on managing Diabetes.
2. .Ahlam Wynne, Specialist Stroke Nurse, West Middlesex Hospital who will present a talk on "Pain after Stroke"

Due to illness Darren Marsh could not give his talk on New Diabetes UK guidelines with some practical advice on managing Diabetes. He has agreed to give the talk at the forthcoming meeting on 27 September. The August meeting was, therefore, used by the Directors of three groups which make up The Cardiovascular Alliance to update the group on what happening within the areas covered by the groups. Details will be given in future newsletters. This was followed by Cardiovascular Quiz organised by Elaine Williams.
One very exciting event mentioned Ron Grant (Director of the Upbeat Group) was the event which took place on 3 September, i.e., presentation of heart monitoring equipment which has donated by patient support groups. Vince Cable MP for Twickenham and Secretary of State Business, Innovation and Skills attended the event. Details of this event are given in the enclosed newsletter.

Our meetings are free, but we ask for a donation of £1 at the door to cover the cost of providing refreshments and buying a gift for the guest speaker.
