Hovis lower Carb

If you search for Lidl high protein rolls on the forum, you find lots of us raving about them! (Me included...)

I have had them a couple of times. There are other low carb loaves can't remember the names but the slices are tiny and they are more expensive than other bread some here can tell you what they are. Many here do have Bergen Soya and Linseed bread which is low carb

Bergen is a 800grm Loaf
Hovis nimble is only a 400grm loaf but has fewer carbs

on price then Bergen is the better buy 7 only sl;ighter higher tan Hovis nimble

The only way to find out whats good / best for you is to test the effects on your blood sugars and see what you like tastewise out of those that dont spike your sugars too high
For me there are 4 breads that dont spike my sugars - hi lo sliced bread, livlife sliced bread, Josephs pittas and lavaash bread and the lidl rolls. To my taste hi lo is the best sliced bread and the Josephs pittas / laavash bread the best for wraps etc
Every other lo carb or high protein bread Ive tried ( Hovis, burgen, tescos among a few others) send my sugars ballistic
Different products will work best for different people so experiment

Hi Boo1979 .If you don't mind me asking where do you get your Joseph's pitta bread from.?

I buy both sizes of Pitta breads and the square laavash bread and find them all good for an alternatice to rotis / chapatis with a curry and also to wraps etc
I tend to bulk order to save postage costs ( which are the same if you buy 10-12 pkts as if you buy one. They usually come with quite a reasonable shelf life - I freeze some too without any problems

Tesco does a high protein loaf which is very nice and about 10carbs per slice. I can also eat 5he Hovis Seeded Loaf (in the orange wrapper) which is 13 carbs per slice but they are quite thick so you only need one. Despite testing them a couple of times, and contrary to many forum members, I do not like Lidl’s High protein rolls.
