When I want to have a nice meal I take the dog for a walk afterwards or jog on the spot through out the day. I am newly diagnosed and just had my 3 month review was dreading it I have went a bit crazy over December and my HBA1C was 38 was in shock because I had many many blow outs xx
I was gorging on crisps and wine last night, morning reading was 8.8
After eggs and coffee then 45 minute walk, I was back to 5.4 with 500mg of metformin
I am wondering whether I ships start metformin? If my next test is 48 or more, I probably will start it. This morning I was in the 7’s but now I am 5.2 and have been most of the day. I don’t. Know why I worry so much to be honest.. I know the next day I’m back to normal and it’s just a blip.
That’s really good! Well done! I wanna get back to 42 or under.. Are you on medication? Or diet only? I do, as a rule, do that. If I do have a treat I’ll take the dog for a longer walk or go on the treadmill but Gin and treadmills don’t mix well lol... not that I drink gin often!
I am on metformin one in morning and one at night xx
Do you have any side effects from them? How long have you been on them?
No I have had none and three months now xx
What were your levels on diagnoses or when you were out on them if you don’t kind me asking xx
HBA1C was 100 when diagnosed. Cholesterol is high but working on that xx
Ahh right. I’ve not started or accepted metformin as was diagnosed just as I went over from 46 to 48. Highest my Hpa1c has ever been was 51 after I gave up smoking. Hoping... I can get back to normal levels on my next test with diet alone
Am sure you can and also still have blow outs xx
We’re only human!!!! Think most of us need some kind of balance.. well I do anyway lol
im on four of them lets just say i dont have to worry about being bunged up. if your bg are 5.2 that very good going. if it stays at that level then you really dont need drugs.
Thanks Paulus... and mehhh... it fluctuates.. 5.2 most of the time but I have to only look at a slice of super seeded brown bread and it’s up to 11.4!
If you like bread have you tried the protein rolls from Lidl 9.8 grams of carbs and a very filling bread roll xx
Sorry, it would be my daughtersDo you have a cat? Mine regularly posts things like this on facebook
Most test strips are only plus or minus 15% accurate. As a test to see this; prick your finger and get enough blood for TWO tests, do a measurement; then quickly swap in a new test strip and see the difference.I was wondering how you can test you blood and it be 1 reading and test immediately after and it the different? Same machine, different finger?
Had a great night tonight.. mean out, burger and chips and a few gins with diet ginger ale. Tested blood and it was 15!! Never been that high then 10 seconds later on a different finger it was 12.5.. still high but not 15?
Why does it change so quickly? What’s accurate?
