Type 2 How come blood prick tests can change within minutes?

That’s really good! Well done! I wanna get back to 42 or under.. Are you on medication? Or diet only? I do, as a rule, do that. If I do have a treat I’ll take the dog for a longer walk or go on the treadmill but Gin and treadmills don’t mix well lol... not that I drink gin often!

I was gorging on crisps and wine last night, morning reading was 8.8

After eggs and coffee then 45 minute walk, I was back to 5.4 with 500mg of metformin

I am wondering whether I ships start metformin? If my next test is 48 or more, I probably will start it. This morning I was in the 7’s but now I am 5.2 and have been most of the day. I don’t. Know why I worry so much to be honest.. I know the next day I’m back to normal and it’s just a blip.

*should

I am on metformin one in morning and one at night xx

No I have had none and three months now xx

What were your levels on diagnoses or when you were out on them if you don’t kind me asking xx

Ahh right. I’ve not started or accepted metformin as was diagnosed just as I went over from 46 to 48. Highest my Hpa1c has ever been was 51 after I gave up smoking. Hoping... I can get back to normal levels on my next test with diet alone

We’re only human!!!! Think most of us need some kind of balance.. well I do anyway lol

im on four of them lets just say i dont have to worry about being bunged up. if your bg are 5.2 that very good going. if it stays at that level then you really dont need drugs.

Thanks Paulus... and mehhh... it fluctuates.. 5.2 most of the time but I have to only look at a slice of super seeded brown bread and it’s up to 11.4!

Oh god I tried them last year and thought they tasted like a bonfire.. I may have to try them again as I do miss bread every now n again. Xx

Most test strips are only plus or minus 15% accurate. As a test to see this; prick your finger and get enough blood for TWO tests, do a measurement; then quickly swap in a new test strip and see the difference.

This is a good way to find a duff test strip if you get a weird reading. Do 3 tests at once. Eg I got a 17.6 then a 5.5 then a 5.3.

you would automatically discount a really off number unless its repeated. my meter told me i had a bg of 0.2 once. obviously it was wonky tech does have a few wobblies. but its better than using pee testing.
