Are you using the app or a browser? I'm almost 100% certain you should be able to do this yourself, via a browser. The app I am less certain on, to be honest. It only gave me the option to reset passwords, change passwords and update email. The avatar was not displayed with instructions on how to change it. I have a feeling only the moderator has the ability. Thanks anyway for trying to help. I will just leave it as it is.
When you hover your mouse over your name at the top of the page, it puts up a list of options, Avatar is one of them. Click on Avatar then you can change it in the box that pops up.I'm almost 100% certain you should be able to do this yourself, via a browser
That was what I suggested a few posts ago, but glad to have it confirmed from an account without elevated permissions. Thanks. When you hover your mouse over your name at the top of the page, it puts up a list of options, Avatar is one of them. Click on Avatar then you can change it in the box that pops up.
I think @Keesha clicked on her name instead of hovering over it.That was what I suggested a few posts ago, but glad to have it confirmed from an account without elevated permissions. Thanks.
I think when people want to leave a group for whatever reason and not just this one they want to know that all the personal information about them and posting history have been deleted as it is no longer applicable to that group so the option to do that should be availableI wish one of the people requesting their profile be deleted would explain why the idea is so important to them. I just don't get it. If you want to leave, just stop logging into the place and delete any bookmarks you have. Why the song and dance about deleting your profile? SMH.

There's plenty of graphics on Google Images, it's where I found the basic one I use and modify.Oh yes how do you get a new avatars.
I cannot work out how to private messageI’m looking to delete my account too can someone please do this for me? TIA x
Thank you so much for your help!Hi @EmmaGreenway
Sorry you want to leave us.
The reason you can’t send a PM is because people have to post on the forum a minimum number of times before the private message function opens up.
I will tag in @DCUKMod who handles profile closures. I expect she will contact you herself, although it may be in working hours.
Emma - I can delete your account, if that is what you want to do, or we can work on getting your private messaging working?I cannot work out how to private messageI’m looking to delete my account too can someone please do this for me? TIA x
People may want to delete their account due to data protection. Under data protectio we all have the right to erasure (not the pop group) but deletion of our details.I wish one of the people requesting their profile be deleted would explain why the idea is so important to them. I just don't get it. If you want to leave, just stop logging into the place and delete any bookmarks you have. Why the song and dance about deleting your profile? SMH.
Accoding to the page source for this post, the Forum runs on a package called XenForo. https://xenforo.com/
Does it allow for the individual to cancel their membership but allow old posts to remain? ie for the person's posts to remain as a 'guest' , this would stop the gaps in threads but would also give the individual the right to leave and close their own account.XenForo does allow for total deletion of accounts, it has to be set up that way by the administrator. It can be 'ranged' so that the option is only available to people with limited post numbers etc. The reason for this is that in deleting an account ALL posts are removed, but the database does not condense or remove the gaps. Therefore prolific posters can leave large gaps in threads.
Generally, the option to ban or just not log in is preferred as it leaves the threads intact.
(I hold a XenForo license and have designed XenForo sites)
